Book of the week “My Sunshine Coast” October 23, 2016 – Posted in: Books, Local Authors Sunshine Coast
Local author and Local Buderim resident has prized together stories of Sunshine Coast that are both personal and historic. Anne has explored the Sunshine Coast, suburb by suburb providing information on the area, personal stories about the people in the area and the community connections. This is a book that every coffee table on the Sunshine Coast needs. Visitors and friends alike will enjoy reading about the individual suburb they know and love.
Did you know: The local flower of Buderim is the honeysuckle banksia. Buderim was founded on timber, sugar and ginger and continued farming for many years. The Buderim War Memorial Community association was setup as a living memorial to those who served and died in the wars instead of a stone monument. And walking to Buderim Mountain school, barefoot was the norm post-war.
The stories and photography provides a depth to our lovely Sunshine Coast that reaches past our love of the beaches to appreciate the history and community that make up “My Sunshine Coast”
Anne has 2 other books, that capture her wonderful flowing writing style. All available in store at Books of Buderim.
Anne is also part of the community of book readers that join our book clubs. You never know who you will meet at our book club.
